Rovers v Boro: Give Roberts A Chance
By: Dan Clough | January 18th, 2008
I’ve always rated Jason Roberts and after his winner at Bolton on Sunday it’s time he was given a chance.
Benni McCarthy has been nothing more than shite for a good few weeks now and it seems the perfect time to put him on the bench, giving Roberts a start up front with Santa.
Rovers should have enough to beat Boro, quite convincingly, but that is exactly what we haven’t been of late – convincing!
Having said that, Rovers have beaten Boro at home in our last four meetings and have won the away fixture 2-1 at the start of the season.
Tugay and Brett Emerton are back, but there are doubts over the fitness of MGP.
Boro are without Mido, Lee Cattermole and Ben Hutchison but Woodgate and Pogatetz return after missing their last game.
My prediction
Rovers to win 3-0. A clean sheet and we won’t have to come back from behind for once!
