Rovers v Brum - Expect changes

By: Dan Clough | September 26th, 2007

01041216001900.jpgRovers are set to make about six changes tonight as Sparky aims to rest key players in time for Saturday’s game at Sunderland.

The Beer Cup not as huge a priority as the Premiership and the UEFA Cup gives us a chance to try out some of the younger and fringe players.

Young left back Martin Olsson is set to play. Also expect Santa Cruz and Benni to drop out of the starting XI.

Khizanishvilli, Tugay and Mokoena are all a possibility.

However, Birmingham themselves are likely to field a weakened side as they already look likely to be facing a relegation battle this season. On their club website it states that a 15 year-old midfielder called Jordan Mutch could be a surprise inclusion to the squad!

There are three ex-Rovers in Birmingham’s squad. Giant centre back Martin Taylor, Northern Irish winger Damien Johnson and Niel Danns, a midfielder who never came through the ranks at Ewood before being sold.

My prediction
2-2, Rovers win on penalties!
