Fulham 2 – 2 Rovers (plus highlights)
By: Dan Clough | November 26th, 2007
Rovers should have come away from Craven Cottage after a dominant performance but, alas, it wasn’t to be.
The first half was poor. No excitement, no atmosphere and no real chances until right at the end. Rovers had the best of the scoring opportunities but were unable to put any of them away.
The second half was fantastic. A great game for the neutral whilst a frustrating one for Rovers and Fulham. We were on top, no doubt about it, but we gave away two goals that we shouldn’t have and only managed a point.
The penalty was a penalty, I don’t care what Hughesy says! And their second wasn’t offside. Our first equaliser should have been disallowed, Roberts (welcome back) in a clear offside position when he headed it on for Emerton to score. Our second was a great goal, well played by Roberts again who played it excellently across the line for Warnock to slot home.
Warnock was superb. He dealt with his defensive duties well and showed more quality going forward than he has before. Roberts was good in his comeback, although he didn’t manage to score he always looked dangerous and set up both goals. Bentley, however, was disappointing. His passing let him down and he seemed to fall over a lot, his consistancy is something he must work on if he wants to feature regularly for England.
It was also a happy game for Steven Reid who got a few minutes at the end as a sub after 15 months out injured!
