Huddersfield 2 - 1 Rovers

Jason Roberts scored a consolation goal as Rovers suffered their second defeat of the pre-season at League One Huddersfield Town last night.
Rovers seemed to have one eye on their next, and final, game before the big kick-off in just over a week and threw away two absolutely awful goals.
The first bad moment of a game packed with negatives was the sight of Bruno Berner going to ground clutching his foot and immediately leaving the field. Moments later, with Rovers a man down, the usually reliable Chris Samba gets caught in possession - God knows what he was doing! - And Beckett knocks it past Jason Brown.
Astonishingly, after just over an hour, the man with ‘the best left foot in the Premiership’ (MPG) somehow smashed a volley wide from a position that my Great Grandma could have scored from, and she’s dead!
Huddersfield inevitably doubled their advantage in a somewhat unsporting manner. As Pedersen lay on the ground hurt they carried on, catching Rovers defence out and Young played it across to the unmarked Beckett who tapped home from close range. This time beating Peter Enckleman. Fortunately Pedersen’s injury was not too serious and he came back on later.
Rovers pulled a goal back in the dying moments when Roberts broke through on the left-hand side, beating everyone and, despite hitting it quite tamely, it hit the keeper and bounced into the corner.
A comedy of errors really in a game would should just forget about and move on. Bring on the Preston!
