Rovers 3 - 0 Birmingham - Rovers hit back in front of bumper crowd

By: Dan Clough | September 27th, 2007

A whopping crowd of just under 10,000 was crammed into Ewood last night as the Rovers battered Birmingham.

The 3-0 scoreline flatters the Blues as they did nothing all game while Rovers struggled in front of goal.

For a long period it seemed that Steve Bruce’s men may just hang on and take the game into extra time before Bents smashed it home from 25 yards.

Derbs scored a penalty before a Santa Cruz header sealed the victory in the 90th minute.

It was a weakened Rovers side with Martin Olsson playing well on the left wing and even Aaron Mokoena looked handy.
