A plea to the manager
By: Dan Clough | January 14th, 2008Dear Mr Hughes,
On behalf of the supporters at Blackburn Rovers Football Club I ask you not to go to Newcastle.
It would be difficult to take if another of our managers were to go to Newcastle. Souness did it, now look at him.
You came to us as a player in the twilight of your career and did an admiral job. Your return as manager has brought nothing but success and we thank you for that.
However, we believe that a move to Newcastle would be a step in the wrong direction. Ignore the money factor; both wages and transfer funds, and stick to keeping Rovers as a team challenging for Europe.
We can accept that when Alex Ferguson retires it is most likely you will be in the frame and will see fit to move on, but until then please remain where you are.
Regards,
The people who truly care (fans)

As a long time Newcastle fan, the prospect of Sparky taking over at St. James is tantalizing. But I don’t want him to do it either. He has a good thing at Blackburn, and the situation is just horrible at St. James.
Stay where you are, Mr. Hughes. Do the right thing by your club, your fans, and for yourself.Posted from
