Is it an omen? - And welcome to the new blog!
By: David | March 16th, 2008Ok so hi. My name is David and together with Jim we have taken over this blog - and not a good omen either for our tenureship as Rovers gave up a one goal lead to loose 2-1 to West Ham.
Roque Santa Cruz put us ahead with a diving header. Good to see him get a goal - it seems like a while. Also Gamst has got two goals and an assist in 3 games, looks like he may finally be hitting form this season.
However, twice the Rovers defence failed to deal with the strength of Dean Ashton who scored himself and then set up Hammers teenager Shears who scored off a rebound from his first shot. To be honest we couldn’t deal with Ashton all afternoon which is disappointing considering we have a beast like Chris Samba in defence - he seems a bit out of form.
So we’re now 8th in the table and Europe is looking unlikely unless we have a good finish to the season and Cardiff win the cup (and the rules regarding that arn’t changed). Speaking of Cardiff, that’s where I’m from. I can’t help mention the rugby team either…
Hopefully the quality of posting will improve gradually as I get used to this and have some more time on my hands - I’m a student and have to do some work today sadly.
But anyways I’m hoping that results will improve for Blackburn whilst we are doing this blog. Next up is Wigan, so 5-3 hopefully to us this time and another Santa Cruz hat trick would be most welcome. We have struggled against sides like Wigan who in theory we should be beating, so it will be an interesting test of our ability to play to our potential.
