What are the odds?
By: Dan Clough | July 13th, 2007As I’m new to the offside.com team I thought I would start by looking at the odds Rovers have been given for the coming Premiership season.
Of course, I’m optimistic…
To win the title BetFred and Canbet have us down at a generous 200/1. Anyone daft enough to actually think this can be possible can get odds of 1000/1 from Sporting Odds. I think I would make them even higher to be honest.
Top four - Blue Square will offer odds of 20/1 for an elusive top four spot with Bet Fair offering 33/1
To reach the top six you’ll find a fairer price, and a more realistic bet! 5/1 from Paddy Power is about the best I can find.
Now for the frightening bit. To finish bottom, Bet 365 and William Hill will give 50/1! Stan James offer a bit of cheer with 100/1.
For relegation the best odds are at Bet and Game and Stan James who reckon we are 25/1 to go down. Terrifyingly enough Victor Chandler have us down at 9/1!
Bet 365 and Blue Square have Rovers down as odds on to finish in the bottom half while Bet 365 also, ironically enough, offer 11/10 on a top half finish! Paddy Power offer evens and William Hill make us odds on for a top 10 finish.
Blue Square have put Mark Hughes at 25/1 to be the first manager to leave, Coral have given just 6/1!
My personal bet is a 7th place finish for Rovers as we continue to move forward!

5/1 is a good shout I’d say!
Maybe worth sticking a fiver on the Stan James relegation odds. Would cheer up a depressing situation, no?

I wonder how much the top 4 odds for a lot of teams are affected by the poor predictions for Arsenal. They seem to be everyone’s pick to drop out of the Big Four if anyone does. 5/1 to the top 6 is great.

I know what you mean, since Henry left they seem to think there’s nothing special about Arsenal! There are also odds for winners without the top four. Spurs favourite. Rovers range from 10/1 from Stan James to 18/1 at Sporting Odds.
