Rovers 2-1 Newcastle w/ Highlights

By: Jimmy | September 28th, 2008

So anytime you can go to Newcastle and take away all tree points, it’s been a a good weekend. It is even better after you have beaten Everton a few days prior in the League Cup. Beating two those two, two teams that I feel are definitely a pair of our boogey sides, gives a huge morale boost going into the game v. ManUre on the 4th. It was a solid performance with attacking style and flair, though it’d be hard to say there were no downsides. Nelsen’s foul on Owen was just stupidity at its highest and our whole team was on the back foot for the better part of the last last hour. I could go on and on, but luckily I scored the MOTD highlights. All 10 minutes of it. So get a drink and a snack and enjoy after the jump.

I see Villanueva came off after 60 odd mins for Fowler? Any idea why?

I think the current plan is to ease him into full 90 minute games; get him used to the speed of the game, the physicality of it as well. Also, having got over the pox not too long ago, I’m sure fitness along the lines of fatigue played a factor.

Yeah I guess, I like Villanueva and like to see him play as much as poss, altho not a huge fan of the Robbie Fowler signing just yet….so was a little annoyed it wasnt someone else coming off.

    Warnock in Centre Mid?

He has played there before and it didn’t turn out too badly. I’m with you on Fowler though, it’s probably just to add depth and as a worst case scenario. Well, I hope it stays just a worst case scenario.

Think you’re right about that one. Also we’ll be down an option with Simpson unavailable.

Nelsen needs to be replaced, to often and we wont get away with that against man u. i think we need to go with 5 in midfield again also.
