Youth and Ladies update

It was a bad week for Rovers other sides who both tasted defeat for the first time this season.

Rovers Academy suffered a 3-0 defeat at Aston Villa. Villa, who look in good shape this season after hammering Liverpool 5-0 last week, played four overage players, while the Rovers team included five first years and the difference was clear.

Meanwhile Rovers Ladies lost 3-2 at Watford. Natalie Brewer put Rovers one up in the first half, but her goal was quickly cancelled out. Then just before half time Karen Burke made it 2-1. Two second half goals from the league’s new-comers meant Rovers left empty-handed.
