A Quiet Deadline Day

By: Dan Clough | January 31st, 2008

tumbleweed_small.jpgAs a quieter than usual deadline day draws to a close let us reflect on the signings Rovers have made…

Oh hang on, we’ve only made one! An 18 year old Irish defender - One for the future.

I really hope we don’t pick up any injuries in midfield from now until the end of the season as without replacing Savage we look especially light in that area!

It is undisputed that we currently possess a quality team. But that’s only if noone get’s injured, booked or tired! We lack strength in depth. Just look at our centre of defence for Saturday’s game. With Samba suspended for two matches and Ryan Nelsen suffering with his hamstring we are left with Andre Ooijer and Zurab Khizanishvilli at the back. What if something happens to one of them?

Call me a pessimist but Europe now, to me, seems a distant dream for next season unless there is some activity in the next couple of hours!
