A Letter to Jason Roberts w/ Highlights
By: Jimmy | December 28th, 2008Dear Jason Roberts,
KILL YOURSELF! The worst miss in the history of misses. Un-effin-believable. 2 points dropped but a point is a point and hopefully this will put us well on our way to getting out of the drop zone. Read some more after the jump.
So other then getting pretty outplayed the firsthalf, the second half was there for the taking with chances from MGP, Keith Andrews and Mr. McMissthenet all failing to put away their chances by some reason or another. The first two forced great saves from whoever Sunderland’s keeper is, and the last, well, I’m sure you get the idea. At least Robbo got another clean sheet!
Below are the highlights. Tomorrow’s game I unfortunately will not be able to watch as I have tickets to go see the NY Jets play in an American Football game. I’ll probably catch the replay and have the write up ASAP, aka when I find highlights. I hope he are the team that get MH fired. Some bad news though, Dunny is out again and Nelson may miss due to that eye injury. Maybe thats not a bad thing, oh well, UP THE ROVERS!

Mate. Stick to American Football.
Yes, Roberts missed a sitter. Yes, we dropped two points. However, Roberts is a quality player. He’s quick and strong and always gives 100%.
That was a bad miss, but it happens to the best of them. Mistakes happen.
I’ve just got back from the City match and seen an inspired Rovers performance, unfortunately a two goal lead thrown away (blame Matt Derbyshire for that one) and big JR get man of the match.
Come back when you have something useful to say.

Something useful to say? I don’t know what makes your opinion more important then mine, and I don’t know where all the hate comes from, but Roberts is a terrible finisher. He always has been, and probably always will be. He’s great with his back to goal and can turn most any defender on his day, but the guy’s never been one to count on to put the ball in the back of the net. An that’s not quality in my book, its very average.
To any reader offended by me telling Jase robs to kill himself, I would hope you know that sarcasm, over exaggeration and irrational emotional outbursts are part of the writing and for me part of the fun.

Expect to take a certain amount of flak when you openly choose NFL over BPL. Sunderland’s keeper would be Martin Fulop. That kind of information is readily available on “the internets.”

whats with all the negative energy!!?!
firstly, Dan, I was pretty pissed off at Roberts after the Sunderland game too…we weren’t to know that he would play amazingly - including a great finish - against City. And JR is a crap finisher, its a fact. You might also wanna concentrate on your own things, from the looks of it RoversReturns hasnt been updated recently.
CSD…BPL? wtf mate…its EPL….or just PL

BPL… Barclays pays a lot of money for that B. =)

haha I’m not going to take the bait CSD but we can be fairly sure I wasn’t choosing one over the other. If I had a choice between which games to watch live, we all know which one it would be.

And as for the keeper reference, dare I say, woooosh?

Hate’s a bit strong. I like reading what you say on here, honestly.
It’s been an ongoing dispute between me and a mate how good Jason Roberts is or isn’t and I just got a bit riled.
I do understand sarcasm, I’m English, other than football and beer it’s all we have!
Ravi - It was Christmas. I had better things to do. It’s been updated now I have time!
