Fulham interested in Andrews – Do you want him to stay?
By: Jimmy | July 10th, 2009
Reports this week have linked Fulham with a bid for midfielder Keith Andrews. Rovers reportedly rejected the first bid, and have asked for £3million for the Republic of Ireland international, according to the Mirror.
So my question to you, loyal readers, should we sell or keep him? Valuable squad man? Or one of Ince’s buddies playing out of his depth?
Personally, I don’t care either way. If we can get a good sum, and £3million is definitely a good sum, then I say sell him. I’ve never been too impressed with him, but he’s not too bad a squad player. No where near the level a premier league starter should be. That’s just my two cents.
But now I want your two cents. Let me know in the poll after the jump and in the comments section below how you feel about our Keith.

my two cents:
It’s two cents.Sorry. I’m a hypocrite because it really annoys me when people correct other people’s grammar/spelling mistakes, but for some reason this seemed particularly egregious. I’ll leave now.
Keep up the good work.

My $0.02
I was generally impressed by Andrews this year. He has a good sense of positioning on the field, and he was willing to take on any role he was pushed into, including right back, despite jumping multiple leagues. I can understand why Ince brought him along. That said, I’m not sure I really care what happens with him. I think the squad’s upcoming season does not hinge on him, unless we get an unbelievable rash of injuries, in which case his ability to play intelligently anywhere becomes handy. (he’s a homeless-person’s John O’Shea, essentially)
That’s a person who is very valuable in a small squad, but if BFS has plans for the 3MM pounds, I’d rather see someone who’s more physically up to the EPL. Smart play is underrated, but at some point ability/talent becomes more important, and I don’t think Andrews makes that “cut-line”…he was too good for MK, but he’s not really up to EPL standards, at least not today…and 3MM pounds is a great bounty for a player like that…(then again, Roy Hodgson pretty much laughs in my general direction when it comes to personnel decisions…)

Great call AJ. It has been fixed. I had known the difference somewhere in my head but didn’t notice the error till I read your comment. Thanks for the fix.

Homeless person’s John O’shea. Good one jjf3. Hahaha. And you’re 100% right about his smart play. There’s no doubting he’s got a good feel for the game, but for someone in a position I feel needs strengthening, I’m right there with you thinking we need someone more up the the Premier League level.

I like Andrews. He was a valuable player for us last year. On one hand, I don’t want him sold until our “first” team players are deemed fit. On the other hand, everything is for sale, if the price is right.

Andrews is a good player and Rovers fans got on his back before he had even kicked a ball just because he was signed from a lower league club.
He showed real versatility covering at right back at the end of last season as well.
That’s my two PENCE! COME ON ENGLAND!

Haha great point Dan, those flags are out of control.
On a football note, you’re point is more than valid. Every one hopped on him as being just old of Ince’s old boys but he did hold his own.
