Middlesbrough Preview
By: Jimmy | October 25th, 2008
Right off the bat, it’s been a Tricky week here at the Blackburn Offside, so I do hope you haven’t lost interest in what is going down here. Full service is resumed from this point on.
Middlesbrough will be one of three things after their annihilation at the hands of Chelski last weekend:
1. In shambles and ripe for the taking.
2. Playing 11 behind the ball and desperately waiting for full time and 1 point.
3. Really pissed off and playing well and trying to score from everywhere(which might leave them vulnerable on counters)
So even though I do hope it is 1, definitely not 2 and hopefully not 3, I feel either way, Ince’s men will have a chance to grab all three points today. I’m actually headed down to a Pub/Restaurant to see the game, so the report will be up after. It’s on FSC from 12:30 for all you Statesiders. UP THE ROVERS!!!
Teams:
ROVERS: Robinson, Simpson, Ooijer, Nelsen (c), Olsson, Emerton, Grella, Warnock, Villanueva, Derbyshire, Santa Cruz.
Subs: Brown (GK), Tugay, McCarthy, Khizanishvili, Andrews, Treacy, Roberts.
Boro:Turnbull, Taylor, O’Neil, Riggott, Pogatetz, Digard, Aliadiere, Alves, Tuncay, Downing, Wheater.
Subs: Jones (GK), Emnes, Shawkey, A. Johnson, J. Johnson, Grounds.

I’m so excited. I’ve been giving my roommates (who don’t care at all) five minute updates

ok, Blackburn controlled possesion and did well in the first half. the problem is playing one up front and derbyshire out wide. For one im not sure he is better than what we have up front and whether he likes it or not is better from the bench. Emerton (who i have been a critic off in the past) is really holding things together for us in every game. We needed 2 up front today as boro game out trying to attack. we lack guile and villaneuva has to quicken his game up. I also feel its time for warnock to ge tback to left back and for us to play tugay in mid week.
This was 2 points dropped and I will take a point from a very good boro side, hopefully carew is dropped as i dont fancy nelson against him.

Ben good summary. Derbs is not a wide player, never has been and never will be. Emo did have a very solid performance, didn’t put a foot wrong to my recall. 2 upfront would have been huge, and after Benni came on we all saw the effect it had. Warnock probably should go back to LB and then we can compare one last time and see where he’s best fitted. Tugay should have been brought on around the hour mark as his passes would have cut that Boro D to shreds.
