Rovers Land a New Kit Sponsor
By: Jim | March 16th, 2008
Crown Paints, a paint company based in near by Darwen, has signed on with the Blackburn Rovers to be the official kit sponsor. The club’s contract with Bet24 runs out at the end of the season and this new deal is reportedly worth £5 million over the span of three years.
The new contract is an increase of about £650,000 annually. Hopefully this money will be used by Mark Hughes in the transfer market, or at least used to hold on to David Bentley. The other upside to this is the hope that with a sponsor set for three years, the people at Umbro will be able to put the new ones for each season out a bit sooner. Also, don’t put too much stock in that photo, there’s no word yet on how the final kit will look color and style wise.
On a side note, as David mentioned, I’m the other half of this new blogging team, and while I don’t expect the world to change too much, I can guarantee some quality writing and another year of laughing at the dingles. Feedback is loved and encouraged, so comments, emails and IMs are great. Until next time, Up The Rovers!

Good luck with the blog lads, you have my big shoes to fill… ;-p
One minor gripe, it’s Darwen not Darwin which is in Australia… Sorry but it annoys me (I lived there for sixteen years)and other people from the town, whenever it’s on the national news they always pronounce it with an ‘i’!
Not much chance of Europe now I fear, although the Intertoto didn’t do us too much damage this season I think.

Sorry about that, I’ve been to Australia and have typed it that way so many times it just seemed correct. I feel better knowing I’m not the only one. =p
The Intertoto didn’t hurt much because we were beaten early, and while Europe is Europe, we won’t have this to fall back on next year.
