Sam Allardyce = New Gaffer

By: Jimmy | December 17th, 2008

Well well well, there you have it and that didn’t take long. Official sites report:

Blackburn Rovers are delighted to announce the appointment of Sam Allardyce as manager with immediate effect.

Sam has signed a three-year-contract.

A Press Conference will be held at Ewood Park at 4.00pm tomorrow (Thursday).

More after the Jump!

Well, all older feelings aside, this has to be one of the most logical and sensible choices made. Survival is key and no matter how you feel about BFS, lets get behind the team and support them 100%. The man did some great things at Bolton was some not to great things at Newcastle but I really think we’ll be able to stay up now; not too high an expectation for most I know, but it personally is my main concern right now. So how do you feel about this appointment?

UP THE ROVERS! Big Fat Sam’s Blue and White Army!!!

Well, at first I thought: here we go again, a fallen manager takes over a troubled club. But then again, you are right, the club needs to be saved from relegation first and foremost, and indedd, Sam has been (to their standards) phenomenally successful at Bolton, so why not give him another try? And to be fair to him, probably it wasn’t just up to him that he failed in Newcastle.

lol…i just wrote a nice big post abt transfers and managers, and this happens.
I think with his record at skanky Bolton he’s a good choice. He probably realised he had not chance at Sunderland so came to t’Rovers.

I’m feeling more optimistic already…at least we should be shipping less goals.

Alex you’re right in that it probably wasn’t his fault for Newcastle, and I put a lot more stock in his track record with Notlob. Just hope he does better with us than he did them.

Ravi, solid transfers post in the last entry, agree with the majority of what you threw out there. And im feeling a bit more optimistic as well.

White smoke! We have a decision… apart of being against it, there’s not much to do right now. I really hate the guy… but because the club comes first lets just welcome BFS and hope he does a nice job.
