Some Mid-Week News
By: Jimmy | October 15th, 2008
This week is dragging man. It’s only midday Wednesday and I just can’t wait for the weekend. I will use this time to again reiterate how much I hate international breaks. Let’s go over some headlines, shall we?
Warnock – “No unrest at Rovers.” — SkySports
That’s great Warnock. Really. I appreciate the effort. Now, lets see how that great camaraderie is making your game better on the pitch. Thanks in advance.
Now this next article comes as a great bit of news to me. Shows the Rovers using some pulling power and beating out some big rivals for this kid’s commitment.
Blackburn Rovers win race to sign Arsenal wonderkid. — Lancashire Telegraph
Now earlier this week, there were some stories saying that our Roque wanted to hop ship and head to Man City. I dismissed this as rubbish right away and now there’s an article proving my point.
Roque Santa Cruz agent slams Manchester City link stories. — Lancashire Telegraph
The Mail Online has a story about Paul Gallagher wanting to leave Rovers for good. Hm. I’ll leave this one open to debate. Discuss.
Gallagher tells Ince: I want to leave Blackburn in January. — The Mail Online
And last but definitely not least, our own Brett Emerton scored two for the Aussies against Qatar. maybe he could work some of that magic this weekend.

Sell Gallagher, let him go and find regular football. Probably make a decent living lower leagues. Roque well i dont think he said it, and its the media wanting to constantly unsettle Blackburn and Ince. i do expect him to go in the summer if we dont manage European places though.
Except for that im loving the international break for once, England got 2 results and it would have been good to have players in but im not sure warnock will get in for a while. Solid but not international calibre im afraid.
Ive been happy under Ince and although we definetly need to stregnthen at some point I think a top 10 finish is where we will be, maybe a cup run for good measure!!!comments?

Ben solid post my man. I agree on Gally, best get as much as we can for him and let him make the best for himself. Roque will command a huge transfer fee and will be a huge turnover for Rovers, even if he does get transferred this summer. England aka Rooney really did do well this weekend you’re right.

I agree with Jim. Roque will demand a sizable transfer fee. This will be good for the Rovers’ books. I definitely think it will happen since I do not see the Rovers making UEFA. Ince is new to this league and it will take him time to learn the ropes. By next year Ince will have experience under his belt and more time to improve team chemistry. Bearing all this in mind, I am optimistic for a UEFA run next year.

Roger that Roger. Haha I’ll get my coat. But seriously, I have to agree with everything you just said. You can’t realistically assume and expect and UEFA cup birth this year and a top half finish would be a good term in my books. IF and big if, but IF Roque goes, it will have to be for a lot more than the dirt price we got him for.
