What’s Been Going on the Last Few Days

By: Jimmy | October 13th, 2008

The Blackburn Rovers U18s thumped the Liverpool U18s 4-0 this past weekend. The win set Rovers in 5th place in group C of the Premier Academy League with 12pts and a +5 goal differential. Glad to see the younger lads doing well in a group that has the like of Liverpool, ManU and Man City.

On to international news:
Andre Ooijer and the Netherlands kept their winning ways alive and beat Iceland 2-0 in a game where the Rovers defender played the full 90. A reassuring outcome since last time when he came off injured in the 28th.

Captain Zurab Khizanishvili picked up a yellow and played the full game in Georgia’s draw with Cyprus. The game ended 1-1.

MGP came on in the 76th for Norway but couldn’t impact the game as the game ended in a goalless draw.

Benni McCarthy and Aaron Mokoena both played in the 1-0 win over Equatorial New Guinea.

Christopher Samba’s efforts turned out to be in vain as Congo fell to the Sudan this weekend.

God I can’t wait for the break to end and we go and beat Notlob this weekend. UP THE ROVERS!

I saw a glipse of MGP at in the Norway match. Playing right wing, a nice little nutmeg of the defeder and a beautiful cross in. Obviously it wasn’t to John Carew cos they didn’t score.

I’m so excited for the Notlob match this weekend, three points are necessary.

Well Ravi let’s hope his form holds up. We need good consistency. And yes BMatthews, this weekend is huge. Anything less than 3 points will be terrible.

Yep the next two games are winnable. Hopefully, Villa starts, I reckon he’d be too clever for the notloB defence.
Side note: I’m disappointed with his stats in fifa 09

Hopefully they’ll use this “live roster” feature to make it more realistic.
